I'm delighted to see more and more people opening their eyes to the benefits of fasting, and many are adopting intermittent fasting. Most of the world wouldn't dare give up one of their three meals, so thank you for reading and for your interest in learning more. Right now is the climax of our human race with obesity and destruction through many poisons, but we are coming together consciously, and soon people will be fasting more than pigging out and stuffing their faces with food. BENEFITS OF FASTING


We shouldn't only fast to lose toxic and destructive fat; we should be fasting to gain connection. This is where the real "healing" happens and the answers, peace and power come. This is why we do any spiritual. When we go long without food, our bodies go into an advanced cleaning and healing mode, "autophagy," where it rids itself of toxins and cancer and repairs cells. Your insulin levels drop, your HGH levels increase, it helps you burn fat and there are endless other benefits of fasting. One of the most significant benefits of fasting is developing this new self-discipline and having food lose its power over you, as well as gaining a new appreciation for food. However, the best benefits of fasting are a clear mind that leads to connection and superpowers.



HOW TO FAST


A fast should be performed as a sacred ritual. I recommend fasting every full moon and visiting a special place in nature to gain even more benefits. Sedona and my Awakening Sanctuary Eagle Vortex is the perfect place if your intention isn't to do long, strenuous hikes. This is why I built it in Sedona. Once you understand energy better, you will spend much more time away from cities on the mountain tops, in rivers, and lost in forests.



I recommend fasting with water and some supplements. I usually take essential vitamins, minerals and aminos when I fast. Currently, I only eat one meal, but I also take amino acids in the evening during my intermittent fast; they will not "break" the fast. My favorite fast is from after my second meal one day to my first meal two days later, so a little over 40 hours



WHEN AND HOW OFTEN TO FAST


Before you start fasting, you have to clean up your diet or you can potentially overwhelm your body and organs with the detox. Make sure you follow my "Enlightenment Protocol" for a week or two before you begin. I recommend doing an intermittent fast of at least 16 hours a day. A more advanced approach is two meals within a four-hour eating window and fasting for 20 hours, or do what I'm doing - some juice, fruit and one meal a day, as my Enlightenment Protocol recommends. Sometimes I'll have an Enlightenight Juice in the evening. The advanced stages of autophagy may not kick in until around the 16-hour mark. There is evidence out there that some women should do daily intermittent fasts of less hours, but this doesn't resonate with me, especially if you follow my protocol. Always do much research and more importantly, listen to your body.


How often you should fast and how long will vary for everyone; you must learn to listen to your body and fast when it calls. It is much better to do long fasts when you have some downtime and your life isn't filled with chaos. I recommended that most people do my 40-hour fast once a week and a 3-5 day fast a few times a year. If you do this, you will be around for a long time.



INTENTION OF GOING INTO A FAST


And it is VERY important to seek truth and to leave behind fear (the first two laws of The Golden Laws of Enlightenment) when practicing yoga, meditation, fasting and all spiritual practices, or this new connection and learning what you are could turn you away from truth and "God." "God" is nothing to fear, but something you must learn to listen to if you wish to suffer less. I recommend diving into spirituality, but you need a little guidance first, and this is it: excitement to learn what you are, not fear of learning what you are.


Please be open to things that do not fit into the world of blame and excuses you may have been taught. To awaken, you must take responsibility for the energy you bring to the world. It is your creation.



HOW TO BREAK A FAST


Breaking a fast is such a joyous moment. This moment can be worth doing the fast alone. You can break a fast with either of the two main meals I recommend in my Enlightenment Protocol, "Enlightenuts" or "Enlightemeal," or a smaller meal, and then one of those later on. An avocado, some organic extra-virgin olive oil and some fruit is also a great way to break a fast.
